A precursor to HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, the cartoon series BLACKSTAR set the template for 1980s sword-and-sorcery animation with a hallmark blend of action, sci-fi, and fantasy. Vibrantly animated and creatively told, the series follows the mythical adventures of human astronaut John Blackstar, who crashlands on the planet Sagar and, with the help of a magically powered sword, bands together with a dragon, a shapeshifter, a sorceress, and a miniature alien race called the Trobbits to save the planet from the clutches of the evil wizard, Overlord. This collection presents all 13 episodes of the series' first and only season.
