The First Game Movie
The regular players from Seigaku participates in an exhibition game aboard a cruise ship. However, they discover that the event is being run by a corrupt millionaire heavily involved in illegal gambling and betting, who demands that they lose the match on purpose. To add to the confusion, one of the players on the rival team introduces himself as Ryoma's brother.
Another Story OVA Vol.1-4End
The official Japanese website of The Prince of Tennis (Tennis no Ouji-sama) manga and anime franchise has confirmed that the release of a new anime called Tennis no Ouji-sama OVA Another Story ~Kako to Mirai no Message~ (The Prince of Tennis OVA Another Story ~A Message on the Past and Future~) has been green-lit. The announcement was originally made at The Prince of Tennis onstage panel at Shueisha's Jump Festa 09 event this past weekend. More details are being provided in next year's #4/5 double issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (which was actually released on Monday) and in future issues.
The third volume of the current Tennis no Ōji-sama: Zenkoku Taikai-hen Final video series (pictured at right) will ship on January 23 in Japan. Viz Media will ship the 29th of Takeshi Konomi's 42 original manga volumes (pictured at left) in North America next month. Konomi ended the original manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump last March after almost nine years and 379 installments. However, Shueisha's Jump Square magazine confirmed in November that Konomi is developing a new manga for The Prince of Tennis starting in the magazine's April issue (on sale on March 4). Meanwhile, Dragon Drive manga and anime creator Ken-ichi Sakura launched Hōkago no Ōji-sama (The Prince of Afterschool), a four-panel "tribute" manga, in November. The musical version continues to run in Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
